When the first inhabitants of Iceland arrived at the island, they were so happy and amazed by the nature, that in order not to be followed by the rest of Norways population they named it Iceland. This after first having been stranded on a hostile and infertil island with nothing else then Ice. They later named it Greenland, which is everything else then Green. They had great hopes that it would be confusing enough for their fellow Vikings and It was.
Unfortunatly they never moved further west, had they America would probably been called Hel or in english Hell.
Peace

That is true Miklos, and thanks for pointing this out. It is not universally agrees that the Messiah has already come. The Jewish religion does not accept the past arrival of the Messiah, but rather sees this a future event.

According to the Jewish Virtual Library:

<em>"The Jewish belief that the Messiah's reign lies in the future has long distinguished Jews from their Christian neighbors who believe, of course, that the Messiah came two thousand years ago in the person of Jesus. The most basic reason for the Jewish denial of the messianic claims made on Jesus' behalf is that he did not usher in world peace, as Isaiah had prophesied: "And nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore" (Isaiah 2:4). In addition, Jesus did not help bring about Jewish political sovereignty for the Jews or protection from their enemies."
</em>

As for the Geithner situation, well, he still remains the only person in the Treasury who has been confirmed, nobody else has. He's basically there by himself in a nightmarish interpretation of "Home Alone"...

I just wanted to note, that not everybody would agree that it was The Messiah back then in Jerusalem. Furthermore some might argue that it really isn’t putting the bar insanely high when you want all your secretary level appointees to have complied with the tax code. Such latitude could possibly be granted to undersecretaries (although I would still advise against the treasury appointing such people).

Dear Mr Olsson,
With mobiles and fast drivers being the national exports, can you provide us with statistics the incidence of mobile usage while driving in Finland?

Excellent Miklos! You'd be interested to know that Iberia is supposedly where the Neanderthal made his last stand. It is safe to say that he's still standing there... Hey, the EU is about diversity after all.

I am ashamed to say that no matter how hard I try, the only image in my mind is Darwin looking perplexed at the picture of Angela trying to pry loose José's false teeth and wondering if their offspring would be classified as yet another cul-de-sac of evolution.

That is correct. I believe, that it was spun out as part of a management buyout aimed at concentrating on the core business of building pyramids, and selling non-core businesses like whatever it is that Sudan does well that I still haven't managed to work out.
